The West Point Inn opened in 1904 as a rest stop on the Mount Tamalpais & Muir Woods Railway — the famous "Crookedest Railroad in the World." When the railway closed, members and volunteers saved the Inn, and it has welcomed hikers, bikers and overnight guests ever since.
Run entirely by its members, the Inn has no electricity in the guest rooms and no road to the door — a genuine piece of Mt. Tamalpais history, kept alive one work party at a time.
